Introduction

Scabies is an infestation of the human itch mite Sarcoptes scabiei (CDC, 2010). Scabies is a common problem all over the world and can infect anyone regardless of age, gender, race, or social class, but spreads quickly through areas where humans are in close skin-to-skin contact (CDC, 2010). In places where people share bedding and clothing, in young, sexually active people, and in places where people are grouped together, like hospitals and schools, scabies can run rampant (NIH, 2014). It is suspected that there are over 300 million of cases of scabies all over the world each year (AAD, 2014).
